We are launching a consultation on our Trust and schools’ admissions arrangements. We are proud of our Admissions Policy and, as such, have made no changes to the arrangements outlined within it. We want to ensure, however, that the arrangements continue to be suitable and fair for those in our community, and we would love to hear your views and any concerns you may have about the arrangements as they stand. In line with the ‘school admissions code’, this consultation will run for six weeks, from 21st October 2024 to 1st December 2024.
As mentioned, we have not made any changes to our admissions arrangements as we feel they are still open, fair and reflective of the current situation in our local area. We are consulting in line with the statutory obligation that a consultation is carried out on the school admissions arrangements at least once every seven years. You can also request a hard copy from the trust office at The Mast Academy Trust, c/o Scissett Middle School, Wakefield Road, Scissett, Huddersfield, HD8 9JX or telephone 01484 865444.
Responses should be made in writing and can be delivered either in paper form to the address above or submitted electronically to office@themast.co.uk. Your response must outline your name, address, the school you are referring to and your relationship to the school in order to be considered. If you have any trouble with responding to the consultation, or require accessibility adjustments to access any of the information, please let us know on email address and we will be happy to help. All responses to the consultation should be received before 11:59pm on 1st December 2024. Due to the need for us to consider the responses and make changes as necessary, we will unfortunately be unable to consider responses received after this time. After the close of the consultation, the Trust will meet to consider all of the responses. The outcome of the consultation will be published on the Trust website as soon as possible once we have reached a decision, and the final admissions arrangements will follow shortly after. Hard copies of the final arrangements and consultation outcome will be made available upon request to all respondents of the consultation. If you want to discuss anything with regards to the consultation further, please Melanie Humphreys on mhumphreys@themast.co.uk.
