The Mast Multi Academy Trust has a wealth of leaders that are available to provide school to school support. They consist of:
National Leaders of Education, NLE
National Leaders of Education (NLEs) are strong school leaders, who have experience of effectively supporting schools in challenging circumstances. NLEs work alongside other system leaders to provide high quality support to those who need it most.
Local Leaders of Education, LLE
Local Leaders of Education (LLE) are serving headteachers who have the capacity and capability to make a significant contribution to supporting schools in their local area.
LLEs carefully tailor their work to the needs of the schools they work with; with the goal to increase the leadership capacity of other schools to help raise standards.
The majority of the work of a local leader of education is one-to-one support of another headteacher.
Specialist Leaders of Education, SLE
Specialist leaders of education (SLEs) are outstanding middle and senior leaders who have the skills to support individuals or teams in similar positions in other schools. They understand what outstanding leadership practice in their area of expertise looks like and are skilled in helping other leaders to achieve it in their own context.
SLEs focus on developing leadership capacity. While other roles focus specifically on developing classroom expertise, this role is about developing the capacity and capability of other leaders so that they have the skills to lead their own teams and improve practice in their own schools.
This may be done through one-to-one or group support and could involve a variety of activities, such as:
- data analysis
- coaching
- facilitating and training
- joint action planning
